Chabad Brasil
Brazil's Chabad community in one place, in good Portuguese.

Chabad Brasil is the front door for Jewish life across the country. It lists centres, synagogues, mikvahs and kosher shops in 78 places, computes candle lighting for every city from the Hebrew calendar, and carries the daily Hayom Yom alongside community news.
Its library is the part that took the longest. The Rebbe answered tens of thousands of letters from people around the world. The project gathered 3,221 of them, chose 500 across fifteen themes, and has translated and published the first hundred against the original Hebrew. They are written in the Brazilian Portuguese of the 1940s and 50s, the plain and forceful prose of Monteiro Lobato's era, where the reader is always o senhor and never você.
The site counts its own visitors with first-party analytics that knows when it is Shabbat, and pings search engines the moment a new page goes up.
