fOS · The Football

A briefcase that watched the trends and ran three channels by itself.

fOS · The Football: Post queue

The football is a Raspberry Pi 4 in a briefcase, named for the other one. Inside it ran fOS, a publisher that needed nobody. Every six hours it read what the world was talking about from Google Trends, Reddit, the news, Wikipedia and the Jewish calendar, then scored every clip in its library against that list. When a clip matched the moment, fOS picked it, wrote the post and published it to TikTok, YouTube and Instagram on its own.

The scoring went deeper than keywords. Each clip's tags and title were widened through WordNet into synonyms and broader ideas, so footage of a rocket launch could answer a trend about space, and a clip of a frozen lake could ride a cold snap. Every post fed its views and likes back into the weights, so the briefcase got a little better at reading the room each day.

It had no mouse and no cursor. Two five-position knobs, two latching switches and a trigger ran everything on a green phosphor dashboard: one knob picked the screen, the other set the gear, from a single post a day up to a steady stream. Two SD cards died along the way, and one rule survived them both. The knobs must never die, so every hardware call is wrapped and nothing can take the controls down.
